Anthony Harper has been playing and teaching violin professionally for over 20 years. He performs a wide range of musical styles including classical, pop, jazz and rock. He has toured with musical institutions in the U.S. and Europe, including Tanglewood Symphony, Schleswig-Holstein Symphony, Denton Symphony, Boca Pops, Palm Beach Pops, Miami Chamber Orchestra, Southwest Symphony Orchestra, and West Palm Beach Opera, among others. He has taught both privately and in school settings, working with a range of ages and skill levels.
Anthony’s musical career began at the early age of eight, and he went on to study at Mannes Conservatory, The Manhattan School of Music, Juilliard, and the University of Miami. His musical education included studying with Robert Rozeck, Glenn Dicterow, Joseph Fuchs, William Lincer, Normal Fisher, Yuri Vodovoz and David Dei. Anthony’s experience and expertise cover a wide array of musical styles, and his studio recordings reflect this; performing Brahms Piano Trio B Major, working with Illia Kuryaki and The Valdermans, and ever Ricky Martin.
Anthony’s teaching style is comprehensive, he believes his students benefit from gaining a knowledge of the music as well as the instrument, and his lessons incorporate ear training and musical theory. Anthony also believes in the transformative experience music brings to people’s lives. He is enthusiastic about sharing his love of music with his students and encourages them to strive towards their personal best.
