“If you can dream it, you can do it”- Walt Disney. This quote has been my inspiration throughout my career in performing arts. My journey with performing arts began nineteen years ago when I started my dance training. I am trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Modern and Musical Theater dance. Although I had years of dance training, I was often seen as an introvert who didn’t enjoy being in the spotlight. It wasn’t until a Drama class in middle school that broke me out of my shell and was the catalyst for my love of theater and the performing arts. I have choreographed over ten productions and shows and have studied elements of performance for eight years. I am currently a senior at the College of Staten Island pursuing a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English Dramatic Literature with a minor in Drama.

Outside of acting and performing in school productions, I modeled for Ralph Lauren and KIDZ BOP and did background work for commercials. I studied Theater at Susan E Wagner High School, which led me to opportunities to perform in Children’s Theater at the Staten Island Zoo. I have performed in the musicals Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd, In the Heights, Annie and Anything Goes. I have also appeared in classical plays like Our Town, along with Brighton Beach Memoirs, and Frankenstein. At the College of Staten Island I performed in the plays She Kills Monsters, The Mirror and Bluebeard.  In 2015, I won the title of Miss Staten Island where I competed with Emily’s monologue from Our Town as my talent, and performed a monologue from the Diary of Anne Frank at the Miss New York Pageant. In 2017, I served an internship in entertainment at Walt Disney World as a Character Performer.

I’ve been teaching Musical Theater classes for five years, and it is amazing to watch my students grow and expand their talents. I believe that Theater is not only an incredible extra curricular but it enhances daily abilities like socialization and communication in which also benefits a child’s future in interviews and public speaking. My goal as a teacher is to highlight every child’s unique qualities through a curriculum that enhances social skills and self-awareness. I will assist my students and encourage them to express and accept themselves for who they are as well as embrace the differences of others. I strive to instill the benefits of Drama and Musical Theater that I have learned throughout my career in order to guide students in their effort of pursuing success.
